Ancillary Services

To supplement your home inspection, we also offer the following ancillary services at an additional cost:

Radon level analysis – We place one or two activated charcoal canisters in the lowest livable area in the home. We remove the canister(s) 2-6 days later, have it analyzed by a radon testing facility and apprise you of the results.

Septic Dye Test – We add a dye to the septic system and then run 50-75 gallons of water per bedroom through the system to check for bleed out, surface water and/or odors.
Indoor Air Analysis- Mold Scan™ is a screening tool for the detection of the level of microbial metabolites known as microbial volatile organic compounds or MVOCs & Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) – Tests for fuel contaminants, and many common household items (14 categories)
Water analysis – You can choose to have a sample of household water tested for various chemical compounds. Available tests include:

- Lead
- Fluoride
- Total Coliform (Bacteria)
- Profile – Tests for total coliform, chlorine, color, odor, iron, manganese, sodium, chloride, nitrates, nitrites, PH, sulfates and turbidity
- Pesticide/PCB Scan
- Heavy Metals- Tests for Arsenic, Barium, Cadmium, Silver, Chromium, Lead, Mercury and Selenium.
- VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) – Tests for fuel contaminants, dry cleaning solvents, etc.
Home Energy Audit – We determine building air leakage and ways to reduce heating and cooling costs. We depressurize the house by using a blower door to determine methods to correct these inefficiencies. We also evaluate the building's thermal envelope, moisture and indoor air quaility issues, and insulation levels and efficiency.
